What Canadian fisheries can I use your ELOGS for?

As of January 1, 2025, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) required electronic logbooks (ELOGS) for Crab and Lobster fisheries across the Gulf and Quebec regions, with other regions and fisheries to follow shortly. Our ELOGS are currently qualified for:

  • Lobster
  • Crab
  • Whelk, Bivalve Mollusks, and Squid
  • Groundfish (including Redfish, Cod, Turbot, and Halibut)
  • Small Pelagics (including Mackerel, Herring, Alewife, Capelin, and Smelt)
  • Salmon
  • Shrimp
  • Urchins, Sea Cucumbers, and Marine Plants
  • Tuna and Swordfish

Currently, different DFO regions allow the use of ELOGS for certain species but not others. The list of species for which ELOGS can be used and cannot be used is updated regularly. Please check with your regional DFO officer to confirm whether or not you can use ELOGS for your fishery, or contact us directly
